摘要： A therapy apparatus has a source of acoustic waves which propagate through a medium in the source, a setting arrangement by means of which a desired distance can be set between a body surface of a patient and a reference point of the source, and an arrangement for determination of the distance of the body surface of the patient from the reference point. The latter arrangement includes a sensor element that is contained inside the source and which can be displaced in the direction of the acoustic axis of the source. The sensor element is in at least indirect contact with body surface of the patient during the determination of the distance. The apparatus also has a display arrangement for providing a quantitative visual indication of the distance.
