    • A detachable visor for a motorcycle helmet having a top wall with laterally spaced side wall members that extend downwardly from the lateral edges of the top wall. A laterally extending recess portion is formed in the top wall intermediate its front edge and its rear edge. The recess portion has a downwardly extending rear wall and a pair of laterally spaced downwardly extending side walls. A plurality of snap fasteners have their female portions attached to the rear surface of the rear wall and they are laterally spaced apart from each other so that they mate with the male portion of the snap fasteners that are secured to the outer surface of the forehead portion of a motorcycle helmet. A top wall cover panel is detachably secured to the side walls in the recess portion to form an aerodynamically smooth top wall surface on the detachable visor. An air flow deflector panel extends between the side wall members of the visor and functions to direct air into the interior of the helmet. A female fastener portion is integrally formed on the inner surface of each the side wall members and these mate with a male portion of a detachable fastener which is secured to the side of the motorcycle helmet.

    • A goggle comprising a lens, a frame and a vent cover including an attachment component and a retention component, wherein the vent cover can be selectively moved relative to the frame to at least two different positions defining substantially different levels of airflow through frame vents, and retained at each position. In certain embodiments, one position is defined by substantially all of the peripheral-contact surface of the vent cover contacting the frame wherein a first level of airflow can be either substantially non-zero or substantially zero. Other positions are defined by substantially all of the peripheral-contact surface not contacting the frame wherein outside air is allowed to flow across the inside surface of the lens. In certain embodiments, the attachment component comprises a tongue that is inserted into a vent-cover attachment hole in the frame, and the retention component comprises a retention post insertable into vent-cover retention holes in the frame and guide posts inserted into guide slots in the frame. The attachment component and retention component may be the same component.

In certain embodiments, the lens-retention mechanism comprises a post and detent, while the adjustment mechanism comprises various mechanisms, for example a rack and pinion, a lever, or a rack and pawl that biases the single-eye lenses to one of the other positions. The adjustment and lens-retention mechanisms may be the same mechanism.

    • System and methods for mounting a goggle to a helmet. The systems and methods comprise a bracket body, with a retaining post that extends in a first direction, and a mounting bracket the extends in a second direction. The mounting bracket includes a fastener for securing the brim of a helmet in a slot formed in the mounting bracket. The retaining post has a distal portion that has a portion with a greater cross section than the remainder of the retaining post. The mounting bracket extends in a second direction. A strap is provided with a first end that is attachable to a goggle and a second end with an opening therein. The opening is sized to pass interferingly over the portion of the distal portion of the retaining post with the greater cross section.
