The turbofan engine includes a fan; a turbomachine operably coupled to the fan for driving the fan, wherein the turbomachine, the fan, or both include an engine component; a heat source; and a heat transfer system configured to reduce ice buildup or ice formation in the engine component, the heat transfer system in communication with the heat source, the heat transfer system comprising: a first heat transfer component in communication with the heat source; and a second heat transfer component that extends from the first heat transfer component to or through the engine component, wherein the first heat transfer component comprises one of a heat pipe or a graphene rod, and wherein the second heat transfer component comprises the other of the heat pipe or the graphene rod.

摘要： A method for determining an amount of water contamination in oil of a gearbox of a wind turbine includes receiving, via a controller, one or more operational parameters of the wind turbine. The method also includes receiving, via the controller, one or more weather conditions at the wind turbine. Further, the method includes calculating, via the controller, the amount of water contamination in the oil of the gearbox as a function of the one or more operational parameters of the wind turbine and the one or more weather conditions at the wind turbine. In addition, the method includes implementing, via the controller, a corrective action based on the calculated amount of water contamination in the oil of the gearbox.

An example apparatus includes non-linear solver circuitry to: iteratively determine a volume of a gas in a system of a turbine engine based on a pressure measurement, a temperature measurement and a constant that corresponds to the gas, the non-linear solver circuitry to iteratively determine the volume of the gas using a thermodynamic state model; and determine a mass of the gas based on the volume of the gas and a volume of the system; optimization circuitry to iteratively determine a mass loss of the gas based on the mass of the gas using a system of equations; and component control circuitry to adjust use of the system of the gas based on the mass loss of the gas.

摘要： A gas turbine engine including a core air passage, a combustor, and a steam line. The combustor is located in the core air passage and combusts hydrogen fuel producing combustion gases. The steam line is fluidly coupled to the core air passage at a position downstream of the combustor to receive a portion of the combustion gases. A conduit thermally coupled to an external surface of an aircraft may be fluidly coupled to the steam line to receive the combustion gases and to heat the external surface. The gas turbine engine may also include a water vapor condenser fluidly connected to the steam line to receive the combustion gases and to condense the water vapor of the combustion gases. At least one nozzle may be fluidly coupled to the water vapor condenser to inject the condensed water into the core air passage.
