摘要： A microphone array-based audio system that supports representations of auditory scenes using second-order (or higher) harmonic expansions based on the audio signals generated by the microphone array. In one embodiment, a plurality of audio sensors are mounted on the surface of an acoustically rigid sphere. The number and location of the audio sensors on the sphere are designed to enable the audio signals generated by those sensors to be decomposed into a set of eigenbeams having at least one eigenbeam of order two (or higher). Beamforming (e.g., steering, weighting, and summing) can then be applied to the resulting eigenbeam outputs to generate one or more channels of audio signals that can be utilized to accurately render an auditory scene. Alternative embodiments include using shapes other than spheres, using acoustically soft spheres and/or positioning audio sensors in two or more concentric patterns.

The hardware timer includes at least an up-counter for counting clocks of a clock signal, a match register for storing a programmable count value, and a comparator for monitoring whether the up-counter's count value matches the count value of the match register. The debug interface includes enable control unit for enabling the up-counter's operation based on a pre-defined relationship between a state of an enabled signal supplied to said up-counter and an internal state of the hardware timer. Additionally, the debug interface may comprise a clock divider connected to the enable control unit to reduce the clock's frequency in accordance with a pre-programmed divider value. Based on the received clock with the reduced clock frequency, the enable control unit adapts the up-counter's processing speed to the reduced clock frequency.

The method includes applying, to at least a portion of the electrode, a solution comprising a Lewis basic oligomer or polymer; and based at least in part on applying the solution, forming an ultra-thin layer on a surface of the electrode, wherein the ultra-thin layer reduces the work function associated with the electrode by greater than 0.5 eV. According to another exemplary embodiment of the invention, a device is provided. The device includes a semiconductor; at least one electrode disposed adjacent to the semiconductor and configured to transport electrons in or out of the semiconductor.
