摘要： A system and method for displaying obstacles in a conformal perspective view. The system comprises a display screen for graphical display of data, at least one obstacle data source, one or more graphics processors for receiving obstacle data from the at least one obstacle data source, and for providing input to the display screen. The display screen displays obstacles in a 3-dimensional graphical representation of real space. The display size of the obstacles varies based on the distance to the obstacles. Obstacles located beyond a selected distance are displayed as semi-transparent line objects and obstacles located within the selected distance are displayed as semi-transparent polygons.

摘要： Disclosed is a system and method for displaying a Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) in which the track is projected along a forward direction, and the heading is displayed in a heading indicator that translates around the periphery of the compass card of the HSI, depending on the heading. The track is displayed at the 12:00 position of the compass card, which refers to the forward direction. The heading indicator includes a numerical display and an arrow, which points toward the center of the compass card. By displaying the HSI so that the track is at the 12:00 position, the pilot may guide the airplane along a ground track without having to mentally convert heading into track, thereby relieving the burden on the pilot.

The apparatus is a heads-down display for an aircraft having a monitor configured to generate a display and a processor coupled to the display. The display has a centerline. The processor is configured to align the centerline of the display with a track of the aircraft, and generate on the display a first symbol corresponding to a terrain and a second symbol corresponding to an attitude of the aircraft. The processor is further configured to position the first symbol and the second symbol with reference to the track of the aircraft.
