For the solution of the problem to provide an apparatus with a simple and robust design, in which a desired gap between the impression roller and the applicator roller can be easily set, the impression roller is mounted between the one arms of two parallel two-armed levers being pivotably supported in the machine frame. At the ends of the other arms one end of a pressure piston cylinder unit pivoting the two-armed levers is coupled, the other end of which is mounted in the machine frame. Furthermore, at least one stopper is provided which is allocated to one of the lever arms, arranged in the machine frame, adjustable as to height, and by which the width of the roller gap is limited.
