    • Perlite, a volcanic glass, is used in a variety of horticultural, construction and industrial applications. In order to be put to such uses, mined perlite ore is crushed and screened to size and then expanded by being passed through a flame at high temperature. During the expansion phase, up to 50% of the perlite may be unintentionally fractured, resulting in very fine perlite material with little or no commercial application. The method and product of the present invention converts saleable expanded perlite, as well as fine perlite material (which is of such a size and quality that it is of no value to a manufacturer and is difficult to dispose of) into a relatively dust free product with numerous end applications, some of which are new uses for perlite.

    • An assembly and method for moving decoys is disclosed. The assembly includes one or more components for horizontally moving decoys floating on water, such that the decoys appear to be swimming. In addition, the device includes one or more component for rotating decoys, such that the decoys appear to be changing direction while swimming. For example, the assembly may include at least two posts connected by one or more slide rails. Each post includes a rotation initiation bar and a series of timing pins to engage a decoy carrier, which slides between the posts along the one or more slide rails. The decoy carrier is connected to pull lines, which are wound about a rotatable reel or spool.

    • A mechanism for an elliptical exerciser comprises a crank rotatably connected to a frame so as to have a free end rotatable in a circular path. A restriction member is rotatably connected to the frame. A transmission member is connected to the restriction member, and a central portion thereof is rotatably connected to the crank, whereby the central portion of the transmission member moves along said circular path while the first end of the transmission member is constrained by the restriction member to move along a reciprocating arcuate path, such that a free end of the transmission member moves along an elliptical path. A reciprocating member has a first end rotatably connected to the transmission member, with a second end of the reciprocating member being operatively mounted to the frame, such that a reciprocating movement of the second end of the reciprocating member along the frame causes the first end of the reciprocating member to move along said elliptical path by the combined constraints of the crank, the restriction member and the transmission member. A foot pedal is connected to the reciprocating member, whereby the foot pedal moves along another elliptical path.
