摘要： A method of forming a surface cleaning pad body comprising a matrix web of binder fibers and superabsorbent polymer particles is provided. The method comprises the steps of depositing a mass of binder fibers onto a conveyor, shielding all but a selected area of the mass of binder fibers, depositing superabsorbent polymer particles onto the selected area of the mass of binder fibers so as to disburse superabsorbent polymer particles throughout a thickness of the mass of binder fibers, and bonding the mass of binder fibers to form a web structure and to substantially contain the superabsorbent polymer particles, thereby providing a cleaning pad body with superabsorbent polymer particles substantially contained in a zone of the mass of binder fibers that occupies at least a portion of the thickness of the mass of binder fibers and the selected area. The method further comprises the step of applying an attachment device to the cleaning pad body, thereby configuring the pad body for attachment to a cleaning implement.

摘要： A disposable absorbent pad arranged to be worn in an undergarment to trap and collect urine. The pad has a moisture pervious, e.g., fibrous, top-sheet, a fluid acquisition layer, an absorbent core, and a moisture-impervious, e.g., polymeric film, back-sheet. The back-sheet is formed of a fluid impervious material, e.g., a polymeric film. The fluid acquisition layer is disposed over the core and both it and the core are interposed between the top-sheet and the back-sheet. The back-sheet has an opposed pair of arcuate edge portions and an opposed pair of linear side edges. The top-sheet has an opposed pair of arcuate edges and an opposed pair of side portions. Each of the side portions of the top-sheet merges with the remainder of the top-sheet along a respective fold line and each is of a generally trapezoidal shape. The arcuate edges of the top-sheet are disposed over respective ones the arcuate edges of the back-sheet. The top-sheet and back-sheet are secured together. The side portions of the top-sheet are folded along respective ones of the fold line around respective linear side edges of the back-sheet and are adhesively secured thereto. Plural elastic strands are adhesively secured in place along the fold lines of the top-sheet to form elasticized side shields. An adhesive stripe is located on the back-sheet for mounting the pad in a garment. The adhesive stripe is covered by a removable liner strip.

The barrier wall includes a body-friendly pressure sensitive adhesive, which is arranged to be selectively exposed, if desired, to enable the adhesive to be releasably secured to the skin of the wearer. This securement forms a liquid resistant barrier to the egress of loose fecal material from the waist portion of the article. The adhesive is arranged to be covered when its use is not desired.

The pledget has a greater structural stiffness and a reduced surface area relative to the core. The absorbent article has a fluid permeable coverstock including a bi-component fiber. An hourglass-shaped absorbent pledget is disposed between the core and the coverstock. The pledget includes airlaid material adhered to the body-facing side of the absorbent core. The pledget further includes a three-dimensional apertured film mounted to the airlaid material, which engages the coverstock. The absorbent core is configured to fold about the hourglass shape of the pledget and resist undesired deformity of the absorbent article. The coverstock includes adhesive-coated elastic members disposed adjacent the longitudinal sides. The longitudinal sides are folded about a backsheet to enclose the core and pledget.
