    • An adapter for use with a cable hanger which includes a U-shaped member having a center portion with legs securing a cable and securable to a structure. The adapter includes (1) a center platform defining an opening therein adapted to receive the legs of another cable hanger, (2) a pair of clamping members on opposite ends of the platform with feet spaced from the center platform and directed toward each other, and (3) legs on opposite sides of the platform and adapted to engage the cable hanger whereby the feet are held against the cable hanger center portion when mounted thereon. The clamping member feet are spaced apart less than the length of a cable hanger center portion, and the clamping members are elastically flexible to allow the feet to be separated sufficiently to clear opposite ends of a cable hanger center portion when mounting on the cable hanger.

    • The present invention is a dual-mode alarm apparatus for sports equipment. The two modes of the alarm apparatus are a first motion detect mode and a second separation detect mode. In the first motion detect mode, the alarm can be triggered when the device is moved from a set initial position which could be any orientation. In the second separation detect mode, the alarm can be triggered by the disconnection of a tether cord that changes the position of a tether switch, to help the user to locate his sporting equipment. The alarm fits in a compact housing to fit neatly on the sporting equipment, with an accessible key switch and a flashing LED to indicate the system is armed. The electronic circuitry of the alarm apparatus is an effective and efficient combination of functional electronic components which carry out a fixed sequence of electrical signal events, electronically responding to trigger events with a realistic sensitivity level of response, with a workable time span between the electrical signal events.

    • The present invention is a multi-mode combination alarm and locking apparatus for bicycles, motorcycles and the like. The case of the combination alarm and locking apparatus can be attached to a bicycle or the like by a hollow bracket which can detachably mounted to a tubular section of the bicycle frame. In the preferred embodiment the combination alarm and locking apparatus includes a U-bolt lock. In an alternative embodiment the combination alarm and locking apparatus can be used in conjunction with a U-bolt lock. The combination alarm and locking apparatus also has a cable lock which has an elongated flexible cable with a conductive core and is retained by a retractable spool. The spool is releasibly engaged with a releasible rachet mechanism which controls the retraction of the spool. The combination alarm and locking apparatus further provides a multi-mode alarm protection to the bicycle, including the motion detection, the battery compartment door tampering detection and the cable lock continuity detection, all operable with a single key.

    • An apparatus is disclosed for error correcting during the refresh cycle of a dynamic memory. The apparatus includes a refresh counter means for supplying row addresses to a dynamic memory during refresh cycles and decoder circuitry for supplying row address and column address strobe signals to the memory to cause it to refresh rows sequentially and pick one word out of each refreshed row for error correcting.Also disclosed is a computer system utilizing a semiconductor memory with on-board error correcting circuitry using hamming codes to generate check bits from which they are generated. Upon access of data from the memory, the check bits are used to locate and correct single bit errors and detect some double bit errors. A CPU is disclosed which incorporates a spot check system stored in non-volatile memory to independently randomly generate syndrome bits from data accessed from memory and compare these syndrome bits to the check bits stored with the accessed data. The CPU is stopped if the syndrome bits and check bits so compared are not identical.
