    • An extruder including: (a) at least two concentric stators including (i) an inner stator having at least an outer surface that is at least mostly conical and (ii) an outer stator having at least an inner surface that is at least mostly conical; (b) at least one rotatable rotor that is at least mostly conical; and (c) a supply conduit for supplying material into a space between the stators. The at least one rotatable rotor being disposed in the space between the inner stator and the outer stator. The at least one rotor includes a plurality of ducts that define passages through which material can flow from the space to an interior of the rotor. Each of the plurality of ducts defines an opening or groove that opens into the space. The supply conduit has a conduit end defining an orifice. The conduit end is disposed with respect to the at least one rotor such that, as the at least one rotor rotates, successive of the duct ends pass in proximity to the conduit end with successive portions of the openings or grooves aligned with the orifice to permit a flow of material from the conduit end through the successive portions to the interior of the at least one rotor. The duct ends and the conduit end are arranged and disposed in the extruder such that an area of the successive portions of the openings or grooves aligned with the orifice to permit said flow of material remains substantially constant throughout rotation of the at least one rotor.

    • The present invention relates to a branch pipe connection for connecting a branch pipe to a lightly constructed underground sewage and drainage pipe. The connection includes a locking ring and a sleeve that are arranged against one another and can be tightened in their axial direction. The connection further includes a support flange. The locking ring has a slit by means of which the locking ring can be placed inside the underground sewage and drainage pipe through a hole made for the branch pipe from outside the underground sewage and drainage pipe. The pipe connection also comprises a sealing that is arranged to extend from the inner surface of the underground sewage and drainage pipe as far as the sleeve. A compact, dismountable connection for improving the ring stiffness of the underground sewage and drainage pipe is produced in this way.

    • A method of socketing a pipe of oriented plastic having an annular groove inside the socket. An end portion (15) of the pipe is pushed onto a cylindrical mandrel element (11) and the region (l.sub.1) of the end portion at the opening thereof where the groove is to be located is heated to a temperature above the glass transition temperature of amorphous plastic and the crystalline melting point of crystalline plastic, respectively. The rest of the end portion is maintained at a temperature below the glass transition temperature or the crystalline melting point, respectively. The end portion (15) when said region is at a temperature above the glass transition temperature or the crystalline melting point, respectively, is pushed onto a second mandrel element (13) axially aligned with the first mandrel element the bottom portion of the socket being formed by said second mandrel element (13). The rest of the end portion is expanded to form the bottom portion of the socket. The end portion of the pipe is cooled and is then withdrawn from the mandrel elements.
