    • The invention provides a graphic input device which has uniform sensitivity and is free of keystone distortion but which is lighter and less expensive to manufacture than the prior art, particularly for large drawing surfaces. It uses Fresnel optics to reduce the cost, thickness, and weight of the prism or collimator or both. Means are provided to mitigate the effects of lens flare from the Fresnel optics, minimize the thickness of the device, and to correct any remaining distortion in the camera's image using software executing on a standard computer.

    • There is provided a wave attenuation device for abating waves and the erosion of a shorefront of a body of water. The device includes a plurality of rows of hollow tubes for receiving waves therethrough. Each tube in a row is in a side-by-side relation to its adjacent tubes and has its centerline positioned basically perpendicular to the shorefront. The device also includes a plurality of first and second horizontal supports, a plurality of vertical supports, and bracket and bolts for connecting one of the plurality of vertical supports to one of the first and one of the second horizontal supports to retain the plurality of rows of tubes in position with respect to each other. The device may include a structure to anchor the device in place in a body of water.

    • A graphic input device is described which has uniform sensitivity and is free from keystone distortion. The device includes a triangular prism with one face thereof defining the drawing surface. A camera is mounted on the other side of the drawing surface in a manner to capture light rays which have been totally internally reflected from the drawing surface. A collimating lens is mounted between the prism and the camera and is oriented such that its focal point is coincident with the camera's viewpoint and its principal surface is normal to the camera's optical axis. By placing the camera's viewpoint at the focal point of the collimator, the principal image forming rays will all be parallel within the transparent material. Thus they will intersect the drawing surface in equal angles, providing equal sensitivity everywhere. By making the optical axis of the camera normal to the principal surface of the collimator, these rays will all be made to traverse equal distances while converging towards the viewpoint. Thus keystone distortion is prevented.

    • A stable sense rail amplifier for CMOS memories is provided allowing very small voltage swings at or very close to the power supply rail to be transformed into substantially rail-to-rail swings. The input of the amplifier is coupled to the output of memory cells which may be designed to have output swings of 200 millivolts or less. These output swings are shifted to approximately the center of the range between the supply voltage and ground. While the level shifting is performed a small amount of linear gain is added. Subsequently the shifted signal is applied to a linear high gain amplifier stage. The high gain amplifier has as its output a substantially rail-to-rail signal. The total delay from the input rail of the amplifier to the high gain inverting amplifier stage is limited to the transfer time of a single CMOS FET. The amplifier is self-biasing and self-referencing.
