    • The present invention relates to a control system (12) for controlling the light output of a light emitting unit (10), which light emitting unit comprises at least one light emitting diode (LED) (14) and is adapted to emit light of at least one color, the control system comprising: a sensor unit (18) adapted to detect the light output of the light emitting unit and provide a corresponding feedback signal; and a control unit (22) adapted to control the light output of the light emitting unit based on a comparison between the feedback signal and a corresponding reference signal representing a desired light output, in order to provide an improved light output, wherein the control unit is further adapted to: determine a random switching period; determine on-time(s) for the LED(s) within the random switching period for providing the improved light output; and control energizing of the LED(s) according to the determined period and on-time(s). The present invention also relates to an LED light emitting unit arrangement, and a method for controlling the light output of an LED light emitting unit.

    • In an arrangement of lighting devices (10), a remote control device (30) and a central control device (20), a particular lighting device to be controlled by means of the remote control device may be selected by a user transmitting a selecting command (42, 43). When the central control device receives the selecting command (44), it carries out a selection sequence (45) during which it controls the lighting devices in one or the other sequence so as to have their output change temporarily (45, 46, 47). If the remote control device, which is directed to the particular lighting device (41), senses such an output change (50), it transmits data representing such an event (51) to the central control device. When the central control device receives such event data (52), it determines the particular lighting device as that to which the remote control device is directed (53) for subsequent control (54) of this particular lighting device.

    • The invention provides a method for measuring a flux of a selected individual lightsource among a plurality of lightsources, wherein each lightsource is controlled by an associated pulse width modulated signal, and each pulse width modulated signal has a first logic level interval at a first extremity of a timecycle wherein the associated lightsource is to be lit, and a second level interval during the remainder of said timecycle. The method according to the present invention comprises time inverting the pulse width modulated signal of all lightsources that have a first logic level interval at the same extremity as the first logic level interval as the individual lightsource to be measured (usually this applies for the pulse width modulated signals for all lightsources), by shifting their high level interval to a second extremity of a timecycle and measuring the flux of the selected individual lightsource at the first extremity of the timecycle.

    • The present invention relates to a device and method for controlling the color point of an LED light source (50). Color point control is a most interesting product feature both for white and colored LED light sources. In known methods for the color control of RGB LED light sources use is made of flux and color sensors. However, there are difficulties with respect to sensing quickly changing ambient light, deeply dimmed colors, coordinating the measurements with the switching of the LEDs, and controlling the color in LED light units comprising a number of independent LED lamps, e.g. segmented wall washers and LCD backlights. It is proposed according to the present invention to control the color of the LED light source (50), using a model-based feed forward approach. Factors relating the parameters controlling the LED currents to the brightness for the different colors (and segments) are stored and used for open loop control. A slow-running procedure continuously measures and updates these factors. Whilst the measurements are e.g. synchronized with the PWM, the procedure itself can run considerably slower and updates the factors asynchronously.
