    • In a mail processing machine having a receive deck for receiving a stack of mail items for printing, jogging means for jogging the stack of items against a reference wall, selection means for extracting mail items for printing one by one from stack of items, and print means for printing a postal imprint on the selected mail item, a jogging device is provided that includes an external strip slidably mounted on a moving slideway and having a jogging flat mounted at the terminal end thereof, a brake-forming friction shoe secured to the stationary slideway and mounted between the stationary slideway and the moving slideway, and a resilient element having one end connected to the moving slideway and its other end connected to the external strip in order to cause the external strip to back off automatically through a determined distance from the moving slideway once the jogging flap has been brought into contact with the stack of mail items.

    • Techniques for filtering a full-text search result in a full-text search engine level are described herein. According to one embodiment, a filter is defined via a definition statement a filter using a filter name which identifies a filter object representing an implementation of the filter. In response to a search query received at the ORM system from an application client, where the search query identifying the filter via the filter name, a full-text search engine is invoked to perform a full-text search in a database based on one or more keywords in the search query. The filter object is identified based on the filter name extracted from the search query and the filter object associated with the search query is invoked using the filter name of the filter object to filter a search result generated from the full-text search engine. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

    • Techniques of index clustering for full text search engines are described herein. In one embodiment, a full text search is performed by a search node using a local copy of an index within the searching node during a search session. In response to an update of a list of data entries the relational database through a Common API (common in the sense the update triggered to the relational DB will also trigger an index change), an index update event is scheduled to update a master copy of the index directory. Periodically the local copy of the index directory is updated by copying index data from the master copy of the index directory (totally or incrementally). Other methods and apparatuses are also described.
