    • A communication device includes a base unit and a handset. The base unit includes a first communication unit, an authentication data storing unit, and an authentication data transmitting unit. The first communication unit is configured to communicate with an external device by using a communication service subject to setting authentication data into the communication service. The authentication data storing unit stores the authentication data. The authentication data transmitting unit transmits the authentication data to the handset. The handset include a second communication unit, an authentication data receiving unit, and a setting unit. The second communication unit is configured to communicate with the external device by using the communication service subject to setting authentication data into the communication service. The authentication data receiving unit receives the authentication data transmitted from the authentication data transmitting unit. The setting unit sets the authentication data received by the authentication data receiving unit into the communication service when the second communication unit attempts to communicate with the external device by using the communication service.

    • The dual type vehicle power-supply apparatus includes a bidirectional power transmission unit capable of performing bidirectional electric power transmission between a high voltage source of a high power-supply voltage supply system and a low voltage source of a low power-supply voltage supply system, and a power transmission controller controlling the bidirectional power transmission unit to perform the bidirectional electric power transmission.     • A switching device and a method of operating a switching power element are disclosed for generating a train of drive pulses (D1 to D32) in a basic pattern for a repetition cycle time (T to TF) having leading time intervals (Th1 to Th3, Th1′ to Th3′), associated with leading edges (a1 to a32) of the drive pulses, and trailing time intervals (Tl1 to Tl3, Tl1′ to Tl3′), associated with trailing edges (b1 to b32) of the drive pulses, which are different from each other, whereby switching frequencies and associated harmonics, resulting from the leading edges and the trailing edges of the drive pulses, are diffused. A diffusion frequency, representing an inverse number of the repetition cycle time for the basic pattern is set to be higher than an audible frequency.

    • An apparatus controls a DC-DC converter that converts an input voltage to an output voltage. The DC-DC converter includes a switching element having a duty ratio controlled by the apparatus to regulate the output voltage, a first transformer, a second transformer and a capacitor. A terminal voltage applied between input and output terminals of the switching element varies depending on the duty ratio and the input voltage. The apparatus may be configured to: limit the duty ratio in response to the input voltage represented by a modulated signal; enable the DC-DC converter to continue to convert the input voltage to the output voltage when an abnormal condition of the modulated signal is determined; and limit the duty ratio of the switching element when the abnormal condition is determined. Main and sub switching elements of the switching element and the capacitor are disposed between the first and second transformers.
