摘要： A valvetrain for an internal combustion engine of the type that has a combustion chamber, a moveable valve having a seat formed in the combustion chamber, and a camshaft includes a rocker arm assembly, a pivot providing a fulcrum for a rocker arm of the rocker arm assembly, and a latch assembly. An electrical device mounted to the rocker arm assembly receives power or communicates through a circuit that includes an electrical connection formed by abutment between surfaces of two distinct parts. The rocker arm assembly is operative to move one of the two abutting surfaces relative to the other in response to actuation of the cam follower. Forming an electrical connection through abutting surfaces that are free to undergo relative motion may reduce or eliminate the need to run wires to a mobile portion of the rocker arm assembly.

The cartridge is configured to have a valve train lash set prior to insertion into the cartridge cavity. A rocker arm assembly includes a body configured to engage the hydraulic lash adjustment (HLA) assembly, an end having a socket formed therein, and an e-foot extending through the socket and coupled to the end, the e-foot configured to maintain substantially flat contact with a top surface of an engine valve.

摘要： An anti-rotation guide for a lifter in an overhead valve valvetrain. The anti-rotation guide includes a plug having two lobes connected through a neck region. A first lobe of the plug is held within a bore in the lifter. The bore forms an opening at the edge of the lifter through which the neck of the plug emerges. The bore in the lifter accommodates a first lobe of the plug that is wider than the opening in the edge of the lifter, whereby the plug is shaped to prevent its slipping from the lifter through the opening. The lifter reciprocates in a first bore in the cylinder head. The second lobe of the plug extends outward from the lifter into a second bore formed in the cylinder head and adjoining the first bore. The second lobe reciprocates in the second bore and limits rotation of the lifter.

摘要： An engine roller lifter for use in a valve train of an internal combustion engine includes a body, an anti-rotation device and a clip. The body can have an outer peripheral surface configured for sliding movement in a bore provided in the engine. The body can define a receiving channel formed in the outer peripheral surface. The body can further define a slot formed at the receiving channel. The anti-rotation device can include a guide plug received in the receiving channel of the body. The guide plug can extend outwardly from the outer peripheral surface of the body. The guide plug can be configured to locate into a bore slot defined in a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine. The clip can be received by the slot and captured the guide plug in the receiving channel.
