摘要： The invention relates to a device and a method for automated evaluation of incubated immunoblot strips (5). What is essential for such immunoblot strips (5) is that these have regions coated with antigens, which regions discolour under the formation of so-called bands (6) as soon as a binding occurs, in particular between the antigen and an antibody present in a patient sample. Within the scope of the described technical solution, a camera (2) is initially used to make recordings of the surface of an incubated immunoblot strip (5) and these recordings are transmitted in digitized form to an evaluation unit (1). Finally, the discolourings, which occurred in the form of bands (6), are detected and at least partly quantified in the evaluation unit (1), such that a diagnosis suggestion is generated taking into account the number of bands (6) and the colour strength thereof. The described technical solution is distinguished by virtue of the camera (2) being used in each case to make at least two recordings at different times and/or under different recording conditions.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting antibodies in a patient sample includes at least one incubation channel for accommodating a patient strip and for incubating the patient strip with a patient sample, a conjugate and a substrate and a control mechanism for visual inspection of incubation quality. A separate calibration strip has at least two control zones which are implemented in such a way that, owing to incubation with a reference sample, a conjugate and a substrate, a control band becomes visible in each case in the control zones in such a way that the color intensities of the control bands differ. An evaluation unit generates a calibration curve taking the different color intensities into account and ascertains, on the basis of the calibration curve, a quality value for an antibody-pathogen protein reaction which took place on the patient strip and information about antibody concentration in the patient sample examined.

A kit contains the carrier and a means for the detection of a captured antibody and a control for the detection of the presence of a sample. The carrier or kit or of a primer can be used for the detection of a bornavirus or a probe can be used for the diagnosis of an encephalitis, for the prognostication of post-transplantation complications, for the monitoring of a therapy of an encephalitis or of post-transplantation complications or for the differentiation between an autoimmune encephalitis and an encephalitis caused by infection.

An agitating means (7), with which the immunoblot strip (6) is agitatable around a transverse axis (8) of the strip (6) at least at times during incubation via an agitating device (7). For handling and/or grouping incubation channels (1) with immunoblot strips (6) inserted, a rack (3) for taking up at least two incubation channels (1) is provided. The rack (3) is in operative connection with said agitating means (7) via load transmission points.
