    • A communication system, media, and methods that proxy location information to location unaware devices are provided. The communication system includes a wireless device that connects to a cellular network and personal area network. The cellular network includes a Global Positioning System server that provides location information based on the current location of the wireless device. A location-unaware device communicates with the wireless device to receive location information via the wireless device when the wireless device is within a predetermined distance of the location-unaware device. The location unaware device connects to a service database to store the location information and queries the service database to complete communication requests generated by a plain-old-telephone-system device that is connects to the location unaware device.

    • A method of operating a communication system is disclosed. The method comprises acquiring a first frequency band for a first device to wireles sly communicate a first data stream. The center frequency of the first frequency band is f1. A second frequency band for a second device to wirelessly communicate a second data stream is acquired. The center frequency of the second frequency band is f2. A third frequency band that is below the first frequency band and is available is found. The center frequency of the third frequency band is f3. A fourth frequency band that is above the first frequency band and is available is found. The center frequency of the fourth frequency band is f4. If a frequency determination factor of (f1−f3)/(f4−f1) is greater than one, the third frequency band is acquired for the second device.

    • When a power supply is turned off its output voltages decrease over certain times. If the power supply is turned back on before the output voltages have had time to decrease to a level required by certain electronic circuits before power is reapplied, then these electronic circuits may malfunction or latch-up. A power supply shutdown control monitors voltage levels of the power supply. The power supply shutdown control prevents the power supply from being turned back on before the output voltages have reached a sufficiently low voltage level. A voltage reset monitor determines when a power supply voltage drops below a certain level, and then a memory device stores the instance of a power supply voltage drop and uses the stored instance to prevent the power supply from being turned on until the monitored voltage(s) have reached the sufficiently low voltage level. Then, the stored instance is reset and the power supply may be re-energized.
