    • An ink-jet printhead includes a substrate having an ink chamber and a manifold, a nozzle plate formed on the substrate, first and second heaters, first and second conductors, and first and second ink channels. The nozzle plate includes a plurality of passivation layers formed of an insulating material, a heat dissipation layer formed on the passivation layers and made of a thermally conductive material, and a nozzle passing through the nozzle plate and in flow communication with the ink chamber. The first and second heaters and conductors are interposed between adjacent passivation layers of the nozzle plate. The ink channels are interposed between the ink chamber and the manifold, for providing flow communication between the ink chamber and the manifold. The first and second heaters, conductors and ink channels are symmetric with respect to the nozzle.

    • An ink-jet printhead using a laser to expel ink includes an ink chamber to be filled with ink and an ink channel to supply the ink chamber with ink, the ink chamber and the ink channel formed in a passageway plate, a cover plate provided on the passageway plate, an ink ejection hole formed through the cover plate at a position corresponding to the ink chamber, a condenser lens provided on a bottom surface of the passageway plate at a position corresponding to the ink chamber, the laser irradiating a laser beam through the condenser lens and directly onto the ink contained in the ink chamber, to generate pressurized waves that vibrate a surface of the ink which causes an ink droplet to be expelled through the ink ejection hole from the surface of the ink.

    • An apparatus for controlling a temperature of an ink-jet printhead includes a heater driving field effect transistor (FET) connected to a heater, the heater driving FET for applying a heater voltage to the heater according to a waveform input to a gate of the heater driving FET, a current sensor for converting current flowing between a drain and a source of the heater driving FET into a voltage and for outputting the voltage, a comparator for comparing the voltage output from the current sensor with a predetermined reference voltage, a warming control signal generator for generating a warming control signal in a form of a pulse string, and a switching unit for receiving an output signal from the comparator and the warming control signal, and for outputting the warming control signal according to a level of the output signal from the comparator to the gate of the heater driving FET.
