摘要： A method, apparatus, computer program product, and computer system for ensuring consistency between data displayed by multiple independent client programs that can simultaneously display server-provided data. The data are accessible only from a server that is not persistently connected to the client computer system(s) displaying the data, so the client programs cannot retrieve the data independently without sending a request to the server. Client programs do not poll the server by sending a request to learn that data capable of being displayed by the multiple client programs have been updated. Instead, client programs are notified by the server program receiving the request to change the data at the time the request is received.

摘要： A method, apparatus, computer system and computer program product that enable a server to provide information and control the display of the information at a client dynamically without being persistently connected to the client. Functionality of the user interface can be changed without changing a client application displaying the information, installing a new application on the client computer system, or maintaining a persistent network connection between the client computer system and the server computer system. A control program running on the client computer system is configured to operate according to instructions provided by the server. The instructions provide information such as particular modules to present within the user interface and the layout of windows that provide access to the modules. The server also provides instructions for responses to be performed upon receiving events.

摘要： An in-vehicle coffee maker includes a coffee mug and a brewing station that receives the mug, and has a lid that secures the mug therein. A pump supplies water to the lid from a water reservoir via a water line. A heating element heats the water to a predetermined temperature. The mug includes a mug portion, a drink cap, and a pod retainer. The drink cap includes a pod chamber to hold coffee grounds, and the pod retainer secures the coffee grounds therein. The pod retainer includes a opening for water to pass through, into the pod chamber, which in turn includes an opening for water to drain downward into the mug. The lid of the brewing station includes a nozzle that forms a sealed engagement with the opening in the pod retainer so water supplied from the reservoir to the lid flows into the pod chamber.

摘要： An apparatus for remote temperature reading particularly for the reading of the temperature of an article or animal at a distance by means of an electromagnetically interrogatable label attached to or implanted in the article or animal the label being constructed to be capable of receiving an electromagnetic signal from a transmitter, converting the signal to a surface acoustic wave, passing the wave over a path on the label, reconverting the surface acoustic wave to an electromagnetic signal and retransmitting it to a receiver. The path of the surface acoustic wave is of a material such that the time of travel of the surface acoustic wave over the path is a function of the temperature of the path and thus of the label. The receiver is constructed to measure the time interval between electromagnetic signals produced by the passage of the surface acoustic wave past a transducer or transducers in the path and thereby provide an output indicative of the temperature of the environment of the label. It is preferred that the label includes a plurality of transducers at coded locations along the path arranged for retransmitting to the receiver a coded sequence of electromagnetic signals indicative of an article or animal to which the label is affixed or in which it is implanted in the manner described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,706,094.
