    • A rotor position sensor mounting assembly includes a housing, a hall effect device, a printed circuit board, a plurality of leads, and a cable tie. The housing includes two pairs of guides that fixedly attach the housing to a stator end cap and a plurality of stator laminations. The second pair of housing guides extend substantially flush with the top wall. A gap extends between the first pair of housing guides and the second pair of housing guides and the first pair of housing guides has a wedge shape. In addition, a pair of internal guides extend from the second side walls into the cavity such that the internal guides form the cavity into a substantially inverted T at a first end of the housing to precisely locate the hall effect device.

    • A current regulation circuit for a motor. The motor includes a stationary assembly having windings adapted for energization in at least one preselected sequence and a rotatable assembly in magnetic coupling relation to the stationary assembly. A power supply link connects the windings to a power supply and includes power switching devices for selectively energizing the windings in the preselected sequence by selectively connecting the power supply link to the windings to produce an electromagnetic field for rotating the rotatable assembly. The power switching devices each have a conducting state and a nonconducting state. The current regulation circuit includes a timing circuit, a current sensing circuit and a control circuit. The timing circuit defines preset periods during which each of the power switching devices may be nonconducting. The current sensing circuit senses current in the power supply link. The control circuit controls the power switching devices so that each of the power switching devices is nonconducting when the sensed current exceeds a peak current reference level during the preset periods. In this manner, the current regulation circuit controls current which circulates during periods when only one power switching device is conducting.

    • A pulse width modulation control system for an electronically commutated motor (ECM) adapted to be energized from a DC power source includes a power switching system coupled in circuit with each winding stage terminal of the ECM for selectively coupling each terminal to the DC power source for applying a DC voltage to selected ones of the winding stages of the ECM in a preselected sequence to effect energization of the ECM. The control system includes signal processing circuitry for generating switching signals for identifying selected power switching devices for energization in order to connect each terminal of the ECM to the power source in the preselected sequence. A pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit generates PWM enables signals for energizing the selected power switching devices and includes a clock for generating periodic clock signals defining sequential clock intervals of predetermined duration. A logic circuit is coupled to the PWM circuit for limiting the cycling of the PWM enable signal to once per clock interval.

    • A motor system having a stationary assembly including a winding and a rotatable assembly in magnetic coupling relation to the stationary assembly. A power supply link having upper and lower rails supplied by a power supply provides power to the motor winding. The power supply link has power switches responsive to a motor control signal for selectively connecting the rails to the winding to energize the winding with a motor current whereby an electromagnetic field is produced for rotating the rotatable assembly. The power switches include a set of upper power switches and a set of lower power switches. Each of the power switches has a conducting state and a nonconducting state. The system includes a disable circuit for selectively generating a disable signal and a control circuit for generating the motor control signal to control the power switches. The control circuit is responsive to the disable signal for controlling the power switches so that the lower power switches become conducting and the upper power switches become nonconducting, or vice-versa, thereby de-energizing the winding to disable the motor. Other features are also disclosed including circuitry for commutating the motor in advance of zero crossings of the back electromotive force, correcting asymmetries in the commutation intervals and reversing the motor.

    • A method of operating a system for conditioning air including a variable speed blower for flowing the conditioned air through a contained space having a static pressure therein. In this system, the speed of the blower is set to effect a preselected flow rate at an existing static pressure in the contained space, and the speed of the blower is altered only in response to a variation in the static pressure and only in following relation with the static pressure variation. The speed alteration of the blower is sensed, and the speed of the blower is adjusted in following relation with the sensed speed alteration to establish the preselected flow rate through the contained space at the varied static pressure acting on the blower.A system for conditioning air and a circuit are also disclosed.
