    • The exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing data. A user interface is generated. A user makes a selection at the user interface of at least one data type of a set of data types to be measured for relevancy. The set of data types comprise an age of data, modification of data, and access of data. The user also selects, at the user interface a granularity of the at least one data type to be measured. Data is collected from multiple sources. The collected data is analyzed to determine a relevance for the data type selected by the user based on the granularity selected by the user, which forms a result. The result is displayed to the user, by the user interface. The result includes a visual representation of the relevance of the data type selected by the user based on the granularity selected by the user.

    • The present invention provides a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for managing a software installation. A graphical user interface is displayed for receiving user input to manage a software installation having multiple software installation tasks. A particular software installation task is initiated in response to the particular software installation task being selected from the multiple software installation tasks. The performance of the particular task is customized based on the selection of the option in response to a selection of an option during execution of the particular software installation task is received. At least one of the multiple software installation tasks may be scheduled and initiated independently from others of the multiple software installation tasks.

    • A method is provided in association with a managed system having a substantial number of resources. The method includes the step of selecting an attribute that is common to all of the resources, wherein each resource has a status in regard to the selected attribute that is one of a plurality of prespecified statuses that are available for the attribute. The method further includes compressing the group of resources into a set of subgroups, wherein each subgroup corresponds to a different prespecified status of the plurality, and each resource having a given status is placed into the subgroup that corresponds to the given status. Each of the subgroups is represented by a display element on a single computer display screen, and specified information is displayed with each display element, wherein the specified information for a display element pertains to all of the resources placed into the subgroup that are represented by the display element.
