摘要： A spice grinder (12) comprising a first, static component (10) which includes threading (14) by means of which it can be screwed onto the threaded neck of a container and a second, rotatable component (16) which fits on the component (10). The first component (10) has a tapering bore with teeth (30) projecting inwardly from the surface of the bore. The second component (16) has a cone (44) with teeth (48) on the outside thereof. The teeth (48) are in the tapering bore whereby grinding takes place in the gap between the teeth of the first and second components upon the second component being rotated. The first and second component (10, 16) have interlocking circumferentially extending ribs and grooves (32, 50, 52) which permit the rotatable component (16) to be moved axially and located in its adjusted position thereby to vary the size of the gap between the teeth (30) of the rotatable component and the teeth (48) of the static component.

The component (12) has a bore with teeth (24) projecting inwardly from the surface of the bore. The component (14) has teeth (51, 58) and grinding takes place in the grinding gap between these teeth and the teeth (24) when the component (14) is rotated on the component (12). Apertures (60) enable ground spice to fall from the inverted grinder. The grinder also includes a movable shutter (16) which is displacable with respect to the apertures (60) to enable the area of each passageway to be varied.

摘要： The invention relates to a spice grinder which comprises a fixed component 12, a rotatable component 14, and a non-rotatable further component which is axially displaceable with respect to the rotatable component 14. An adjustment means 28 is provided for displacing the further component 13 axially with respect to the rotatable component 14. The further component 13 and the rotatable component 14 have grinding teeth (46 60 62) which face one another across a grinding gap. The further component 13 includes a first ramp having a camming surface 50 which co-operates with the camming surface 32 of a second ramp on the adjustment means 28. The camming surface 50 of the first ramp rides over the camming surface 32 of the second ramp as the adjustment means 28 is moved in the circumferential direction, thereby displacing the further component 13 axially with respect to the rotatable component 14 to adjust the position of the further component 13 with respect to the rotatable component, resulting in the width of the grinding gap being varied.
