摘要： A process is disclosed for the catalytic oxidation of mercaptans in a sour petroleum distillate containing difficultly oxidizable mercaptans, catalyst toxins and catalyst toxin precursors. The process comprises treating said distillate in contact with an alkaline solution and extracting naphthenic acids from the distillate; treating the substantially naphthenic acids-free distillate in contact with an oxidizing agent and an alkaline solution of a metal phthalocyanine catalyst, oxidizing the residual catalyst toxins and toxin precursors contained therein and converting a portion of the mercaptans to disulfides; passing the resulting reaction mixture through a bed of solid adsorbent particles and adsorbing the oxidized toxins and toxin precursors and the metal phthalocyanine solution thereon; treating the toxin-free and toxin precursor-free distillate in contact with an alkaline solution and a supported metal phthalocyanine catalyst in the presence of an oxidizing agent; and recovering a distillate substantially free of mercaptans.

摘要： An electrochemical fuel cell is operated with periodic reactant starvation at either or both electrodes. Periodic reactant starvation conditions cause a change in the potential of the starved electrode and may result in the removal of electrocatalyst poisons and in improved fuel cell performance. This technique may have other beneficial effects at the electrodes, including performance improvements due to water management effects or localized heating effects at the starved electrode. In a preferred method, while successive localized portions of a fuel cell electrode are periodically reactant starved, the remainder of the fuel cell electrode remains electrochemically active and saturated with reactant such that the fuel cell is able to continue to generate power.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for bonding a thin electrically conductive wire, especially an aluminum wire (11), to electrical bonding pads or areas (12, 14) of electric or electronic components (16), especially microchips or semiconductor components. 摘要： A fuel cell system has an anode space and a cathode space which are separated from one another by a proton-conducting membrane, and an oxygen-containing gas flows through the cathode space. According to the invention, it is suggested to admit to the anode space a liquid fuel/coolant mixture, preferably a methanol/water mixture. By means of this combination of the fuel circulation and the coolant circulation, the system can be manufactured in a more compact and lower-cost manner.
