摘要： The present invention is generally directed to methods of making application-specific finished lubricant compositions comprising bio-derived diester species. In some embodiments, bio-derived fatty acid moieties are reacted with Fischer-Tropsch/gas-to-liquids reaction products and/or by-products (e.g., gas-to-liquids-produced α-olefins) to yield bio-derived diester species that can then be selectively blended with base oil and one or more additive species to yield an application-specific finished lubricant product having a biomass-derived component.

摘要： A compressor lubricant composition providing energy savings and exhibiting excellent oxidation stability is provided, as well as a process for preparation of the lubricant composition. The composition comprises: (i) from 68 to 99.999 wt % of an isomerized base oil or blend of isomerized base oils; (ii) 0.001 through 20 wt % of a blend of ashless additives, the ashless additives having a viscosity range at 40° C. of from 50 mm2/s to 60 mm2/s, a density at 20° C. of from 0.95 through 1.05 g/cm3, a flash point of greater than 100° C. (COC), solubility in mineral oil of greater than 5 wt %, sulfur content of from 4.8 wt % through 6.0 wt %, and phosphorus content of from 2.9 through 3.6 wt %; (iii) less than 1.0 wt % of a dithiocarbamate, wherein the Conradson carbon residue is less than or equal to 3.00. The dithiocarbamate is added to the base oil blend as a top treatment.

(625° F.) and a viscosity index greater than 28×Ln(Kinematic Viscosity at 100° C., in cSt)+80; wherein the heat transfer oil comprises a base oil, made from a waxy feed, with the base oil having: i. greater than 10 weight percent and less than 70 weight percent total molecules with cycloparaffinic functionality, wherein the one or more fractions have at least 31.2 wt % 1-unsaturations by FIMS; b. providing the heat transfer oil to a mechanical system; and c. transferring heat in the mechanical system from a heat source to a heat sink.
