    • A system for restraining printhead movement in an imaging device includes an imaging device frame; a carriage operably coupled to the imaging device frame for movement between a print position and a retracted position; and a printhead array movably supported by the carriage for translation with respect to the carriage. The system includes a restraint system supported by the carriage. The restraint system has at least one carriage restraint pin and a printhead restraint pin. The at least one carriage restraint pin is configured for movement into and out of engagement with the imaging device frame and the printhead restraint pin being configured for movement into and out of engagement with the printhead array when the carriage is at the retracted position.

    • A rear-mount integrated rotary encoder comprises a mechanical portion and a printed circuit board portion. The mechanical portion of a rear mount integrated rotary encoder comprises a housing including a bushing for receiving one end of a rotatable. The rotatable shaft passes through an open front portion of the housing and is mechanically connected to exposed rotatable circuit contacting members. The printed circuit board portion has an encoder contact pattern formed thereon. The printed circuit board has an area larger than the cross sectional area of the housing. The encoder contact pattern surrounds an aperture in the circuit board. The rotatable shaft of the rotary encoder is passed through the aperture such that the rotatable circuit contacting members contact the encoder contact pattern on the circuit board. The housing includes projections, substantially orthogonal to the circuit board, for engaging a feature of the circuit board for securing the integrated encoder in an assembled state. Alternatively, the housing may glued to the circuit board. A further feature of the subject rear-mount integrated rotary encoder is that it is substantially cylindrical in shape to reduce the required spacing between adjacent encoders.

    • An electrical probe for a flying leadset of a logic analyzer probe has coaxially aligned internal elements enclosed in an insulating cover. The probe has an electrically conductive contact having contact fingers extending in one direction from a support member and a contact member extending in the opposite direction. A sleeve abuts the contact member and receive a center conductor of a conductive cable that is secured in the contact member. The insulating cover has a contact cover portion and a over-mold portion that are chemically bonded together. The contact fingers are positioned in the contact cover and the over-mold portion encapsulates the rest of the probe. The contact fingers are aligned parallel with one side of a square aperture formed in the contact cover. A resistive element may be interposed between the contact member and the sleeve.

    • An elongated bail handle for an electronic instrument housing with opposed ends providing handle mounts. The handle has an elongated intermediate portion extending the width of the instrument, and a pair terminal arm portions each connected to the intermediate portion and having a free end for connection to a respective end surface of the housing. The intermediate portion defines an elongated bore, and a reinforcing bar laterally spans the bore to connect opposed walls of the intermediate portion. The arm and bore may have an oblong cross section, with the bar spanning the short span. The bar may define a passage, and an overmolded handle grip encompassing the reinforcing bar may have material filling the passage to secure it to the handle.
