摘要： A VPN gateway for interfacing two or more VPNs to external networks such as the internet or a PSTN having different addressing schemes, has a NAT shared by the VPNs for converting VPN addresses to addresses of the external network. An advantage of this is reduced number of additional network elements, e.g. boxes, and fewer additional addresses. The NAT can be a source and destination NAT, arranged such that entities in the external networks appear to have an address within an address range of the respective VPN. Thus, entities in the external resource can appear as trusted resources inside the VPN. The gateway can incorporate a converter for converting between formats such as VoIP packets and TDM calls.

摘要： A VPN media proxy for communication between VPNs and external networks having different addressing schemes, has interfaces to the two or more VPNs, a configuration store, and an address translator arranged to translate the source and destination address of the information based on the configuration. Sharing of the proxy by many VPNs can keep costs down or enable more VPNs to be provided. A call server also shared by the VPNs is used to set up the session and to establish the configuration. The proxy can have an address within each VPN so that it appears to be a dedicated resource for each VPN.

摘要： The present invention provides a telecom control function in a communication terminal. The telecom control function is configured to receive call indicia when a call tag in a software entity, such as an application or electronic document, is selected by a user of the communication terminal. The call indicia provides information associated with a remote party with which a call is being requested by the user. The telecom control function may use the call indicia along with user indicia obtained from the user and indirectly establish a call with the remote party using a telephony terminal other than the communication terminal. If the communication terminal includes a telecommunication client capable of supporting a call, the telecom control function may instruct the telecommunication client to directly initiate the call with the remote party using the call indicia.

If the user is at a certain location, the incoming call is routed to one or more telephony devices associated with the user or location based on whether the user is at the location. If the user has multiple telephony devices associated with a given location and the user is at that location, an incoming call may be routed to one or more of the telephony devices. If the user is not at the location, the incoming call may proceed in normal course or may be processed as desired based on the user not being at the location. Different telephony devices may be associated with different locations, and different call processing rules may be implemented based on the location of the user.

The access point includes or is associated with one or more servers, which may provide the location-based information and control access. The local wireless zone is a limited area in which communications between the access point and the mobile terminal are possible. Once detected, the mobile terminal is afforded access to a server on which the location-based information is stored. The server is associated with the local wireless zone.
