    • Watermark encoders and decoders can be integrated into operating systems, Internet browsers, media players, and other applications and devices. Such integration enables the watermark-enabled application or device to provide additional functionality and information available via the watermark. The watermark, for example, may link to metadata or actions related to a media object. To exploit this watermark enabled functionality, the integrated application uses a watermark decoder to access the related metadata and actions. The user interface of the integrated application is enhanced to present metadata and actions linked via the watermark. Similarly, watermark encoders may be integrated into applications to convert media objects into enhanced, watermarked objects. A variety of other arrangements and features are also detailed. Many arrangements can be implemented using object identifiers other than watermarks.

    • A wire tool for joining, assembling, and more specifically twisting wire together in a relatively rapid, consistent, and precise manner is described herein. The wire tool for twisting a plurality of corresponding wires together preferably includes a wire-manipulating body having an outside gripping surface and an inside wire-engaging portion. The wire-engaging portion preferably includes a plurality of parallel passages each having a first opening located at a first end and a similarly constructed second opening located at a second end of the passage. The passages are positioned in close proximity to each other with each passage sized to receive a corresponding wire of the plurality of corresponding wires therethrough. After placement of each of the plurality of wires through the passages from openings on the same end of the passages, the wire manipulating body is rotated and the wires are simultaneously drawn from the passages to engage the wires in electrical contact and/or otherwise form a uniformly twisted wire bundle.

    • A method and apparatus for a multi-project verification environment is provided. A project directory contains files describing commands, designs, tests, and configuration objects. A configuration object contains configuration information describing characteristics of the verification environment for a particular project. For example, the configuration information includes parameters and flags to input to simulation tools, as well as information for tests that are executed on the tools. The commands in the project directory are written in a generic way such that they are appropriate for many different projects. Execution of a command invokes a test script file that is parameterized by values in a configuration object corresponding to the project under test. An entire new verification environment can be generated by specifying a new configuration object, which can be based on a previous configuration object.
