The method also includes receiving an input specifying an audio effect to apply to the selected audio tracks and applying an inverse of the audio effect to one or more non-selected audio tracks in response to the input.

The method includes receiving digital audio data and displaying a representation of the received digital audio data as an audio waveform. The display also includes a representation of one or more controls for applying one or more effects to the digital audio data. A user input is received manipulating a first control relative to the audio waveform. The displayed representation of the audio waveform is modified according to the relative position of the first control and a corresponding effect is applied to the digital audio data. The modified digital audio data is then made available for further processing.
