    • A method and apparatus to perform persistence tests for a mobile station in a network are described. The apparatus includes a random number generator, a timer module, and a processor coupled to the random number generator and the timer module. A counter for the random number generator configured to count access slots is initialized. One or more random numbers are successively generated, until a value of a generated random number is lower than a first predetermined value. At the same time, the counter is successively incremented based on the number of generated random numbers. When the counter value is higher than or equal to a second predetermined value of successive iterations, or, in the alternative, when the value of the generated random number is lower than the first predetermined value, the mobile station is deactivated for a predetermined number of access slots equal to the counter value. A timer interrupt further runs subsequent to the expiration of the predetermined number of access slots. Finally, if an access probe needs to be transmitted to the network, the timer interrupt is disabled and a random access number is generated in preparation for transmission of the access probe to enable access to the network.

    • A cable management device for managing cables extending between a support rack and an object slideable in and out of the support rack includes a support having a stop member and a mounting surface that is removably fastenable to the support rack.     • A tooth whitening apparatus and method using an intra-oral light generating device, whereas the light generating device is placed inside a patient's mouth and bucally to the jaws to produce a light source, comprises the steps of applying inside a means for depositing and applying, adapted for the upper and lower jaws, a tooth whitening agent comprising an optical chemical agent. Said means for depositing and applying are made of suitable material comprising plastic, and adapted inside the patient's mouth and adjacent to the inner surface of the patient's lips. The method further includes the steps of placing the means for depositing and applying filled with a light-activated, tooth whitening agent into the patient's mouth, onto the corresponding jaws and positioning the light generating device, inside the patient's mouth, bucally to the jaws, whereas the intra-oral light is located adjacent to surface of the means for depositing-and-applying, and on the inner surface of the cheeks and lips of the mouth of said patient. Therein the intra-oral light activates the tooth whitening agent for a period of time.
