摘要： Embodiments of the invention provide methods, computer software products and systems for detecting pixel stutter of a scanner. In one embodiment, a numeric count of stuttered pixels in both the x (row) and y (column) directions and a graphic display of the stuttered pixels overlaid on the image data are provided by the invention. The y-direction stutter count provides the estimate of pixel stutter from pure statistical data variations.

摘要： A system for identification of DNA bases in a nucleotide sequence includes a microprocessor and a set of executable instructions and is configured to accept a set of input data corresponding to a DNA sequence image from an autoradiograph. In part by interpolating a distribution of density peaks derived from the set of input data, the system is configured to generate a set of output data substantially identifying or presenting the bases in the DNA sequence in a linear fashion, corresponding to the linear order of nucleotides comprising the DNA sequence. The system thereby enables identification of substantially more bases than could be read by the human eye. Enhanced electrophoresis equipment and consumables may also be applied to generate a more predictable and linear set of input data and, in turn, to generate a set of output data identifying an even greater number of DNA bases in the sequence under analysis.

摘要： An image alignment tool is described for adjusting the alignment of a grid with an image. An initial grid aligner determines an initial, approximately aligned, position of the grid. An intensity scorer determines, for each of a plurality of test grid elements of the plurality of grid elements, a set of intensity scores. Each member of the set is based, at least in part, on intensities of pixels of one or more image features within the test grid element in one of the initial or additional positions. A combined-rank-score generator combines, for each of the initial and additional grid positions, members of sets of rank scores corresponding to the grid position in order to generate a combined rank score for the grid position. A grid alignment adjuster adjusts the alignment of the grid based on a comparison among the combined rank scores.

摘要： A computer program analyzes an image including features that correspond to emissions detected from a biological probe array. The program aligns one or more grids, each having one or more grid cells, with all or portions of the image; selects one or more grid cells to be associated with features based on distributions of pixel intensity values within the grid cells; locates a shape, such as a circle, in each selected grid cell based on distributions of pixel intensity values within the grid cells; and associates one or more intensity values with a feature based on intensities of feature pixels, or feature pixels and portions of feature pixels, within the shape located in the selected grid cell associated with the feature. The features may correspond to spots of biological material such as nucleic acid, peptide, protein fragment, protein, antibody, ligand, receptor, or small molecule.
