    • The present invention features a removable electrical connector or adapter for securing the contact prongs of an electric plug to a worn outlet. The connector has a housing with at least two opposing, nonconducting side portions. Each side portion has a top and a bottom. Two contact prongs are spaced apart from each other and are movably mounted to at least one of the side portions. The contact prongs extend out of the top of the housing, which housing also has at least one aperture at the bottom. Electrical plug prongs can be inserted through this aperture to make an electrical connection with the set of contact prongs. In another embodiment, the electrical connector is a self-contained plug, permanently attached to its associated electrical appliance, and having movable prongs and a spring for biasing the prongs inwardly, against the contacts of an outlet, after insertion. In yet another embodiment of the invention, a spring is secured to outwardly-biased prongs, so that, upon squeezing the plug and inserting it into the outlet, the prongs are forced to separate and make contact with the inner contacts of the outlet.

    • A protective structure for a vehicle having an opening on an upper surface is provided. One embodiment of the invention has at least a partial enclosure around an area defined laterally by the vehicle opening with an overhead and side protective capability. An embodiment of the invention has an overhead cover that is formed to substantially enclose a top area of the enclosure and having multiple panels that may be locked into place or opened by an occupant for exit through a top area of the enclosure. The multiple panels in this embodiment extend upwardly and inwardly from a section of the enclosure's side walls. Ballistic windows are provided on the protective structure such that an occupant can view laterally and vertically through the enclosure and overhead cover. A shield or protective plate can be mounted on one side of the enclosure.

    • Systems and methods of eliminating or reducing interference resulting from harmonics of local oscillator frequencies of mixers are shown. In one embodiment, a determination is made as to a zone or zones within an intermediate frequency band associated with undesired spurs. Inter-tuner spurs and intra-tuner spurs may be identified such that frequency information of the identified spurs may be utilized to define a plurality of exclusion zones. Local oscillator frequencies may subsequently be efficiently selected in view of the exclusion zone information. Embodiments may also determine a score for identified spurs which may be used to optimally select from within a set of spur-generating local oscillator frequencies.
