    • A method of evacuating hot gases produced in a current breaking operation by a high voltage circuit breaker (1) which comprises a metal outer tank (2) filled with insulating gas, a casing (3) having gas outlet ports (30) and arranged inside the metal outer tank (2), with which it is in communication via the said ports, characterized in that insulating gas (GI) is aspirated from inside the casing (3) in a direction parallel to the flow of the hot gases (GC) produced by the current breaking operation, so as to mix the gases inside the casing (3) before they are evacuated, through the said gas outlet ports (30) of the casing, into the interior of the metal outer tank (2). The invention also relates to an associated high voltage circuit breaker, which includes means (5) for aspirating insulating gas from the interior of the casing (3), in a direction parallel to the hot gas stream.

    • A gas-blast circuit-breaker includes a jacket filled with a dielectric gas. A mobile arc contact cooperates with a fixed arc contact within the jacket. The mobile arc contact is part of a mobile contact assembly which is displaceable axially in the jacket between a closed position and an open position. The mobile contact assembly includes a first tube carrying the mobile arc contact and a second tube, which is coaxial with the first tube, carrying a mobile permanent contact with a gas blast nozzle coupled thereto. A ring joins the first tube and the second tube to define a gas-blast chamber and a compression chamber on opposite sides of the ring. The compression chamber communicates with the gas-blast chamber. An annular piston having an annular recess closes the compression chamber. A compression spring influences the annular piston against a fixed front stop. A floating ring is moveably mounted on the first tube between a front abutment position in which the floating ring abuts a fixed washer and a rear abutment position in which the floating ring abuts a rear retaining member, the floating ring being housed in the annular recess when the annular piston abuts the fixed front stop. The floating ring has an orifice which is blocked by the fixed washer when the floating ring is in the front abutment position.

    • A mechanism for inserting a closure resistor serves for an electrical switch which contains a semi-moving arcing contact secured to a metal rod connected to the resistor. The mechanism includes a metal tube mounted to slide on the rod and carrying fingers that plug onto a conductive plug of the switch. A switch is disposed between a shoulder provided on the rod and a shoulder provided on the tube so as to be compressed during a first stage of switch opening, and so as to exert a return force on the tube to displace it in the axial direction in order to separate the fingers from the plug during a second stage of switch opening. The mechanism also includes a system having at least one ball which locks the tube so as to prevent it from being displaced in the axial direction during the first opening stage, and which retracts during the second opening stage so as to release the tube so that it can be displaced.

    • A molecular sieve moisture absorption device for electrical apparatus containing a dielectric gas includes a box in which the molecular sieve is placed. The box is closed by a plate provided with a valve through which the inside of the box is evacuated. The plate is held in place on a shoulder of the box by the action of pressure difference between the inside and the outside of the box after the inside of the box has been evacuated. A gasket is placed between the plate and the shoulder to ensure that the inside volume of the box is leakproof. The device can be stored independently of the apparatus. When the device is mounted on the apparatus, evacuating the case of the apparatus causes the plate to separate from the box, thereby putting the molecular sieve into contact with the inside volume to be treated of the case.
