    • A disk drive includes a gear transmission system disposed with a casing. The gear transmission system includes first and second gears, a driving plate having a right serrated portion meshed with the first gear, and a left serrated portion disposed adjacent to and facing the third gear. Rotation of the second gear in clockwise and anti-clockwise directions alternately results in movement of the driving plate in left and right sides of the casing, which, in turn, results in engagement and disengagement of the third gear with the left serrated portion of the driving plate, alternately. The driving plate further has an open-ended slot formed at the left end of the driving plate and adjacent to the left serrated portion in such a manner to provide resilience when the left serrated portion is engaged with the third gear.

    • A fabrication method of an optical disk drive is provided. The method adapted for alleviating the eccentric issue of a loaded optical disk. The optical disk drive, for example, includes a turntable having a plurality of engaging springs. The engaging springs are adapted to secure the optical disk through a hole in the center of the optical disk. The steps for fabricating the optical disk drive include the following: first, the eccentric degree of the optical disk caused by the engaging springs is measured. Then a result is obtained. According to the obtained result, material is added to at least one of the engaging springs or a part of original material is removed from at least one of the engaging springs.

    • An optical disk drive is adapted for reading data from an optical disk. The optical disk drive includes a housing, a tray, and a read module. The tray is disposed in the housing and is adapted for ejecting from the housing. The read module is adapted for reading data from an optical disk. The read module includes a turntable and an optical read head. The turntable includes a number of engaging springs, in which at least one of the engaging springs include added material for superposing the center of the optical disk and the center of the turntable. Furthermore, the optical read head is adapted to move along a tracking path for reading data from the optical disk.

    • A traverse for an optical disc drive comprising a base, a main shaft motor, a pick-up motor and a pick-up head module is provided. The base includes a bottom plate and a plurality of raised mesas. The bottom plate has an opening and the raised mesas connect with the bottom plate. The main shaft motor is disposed on the raised mesas. The pick-up motor is disposed on the bottom plate and the pick-up head module connects with the pick-up motor. The pick-up motor enables the pick-up head module to move inside the opening. Additionally, the present invention also provides an optical disc drive with the said traverse.
