摘要： An apparatus, method, and system for dynamically assigning orthogonal codes to different information signals communicated between a Node B and user equipment in a cellular radio communication system in which a fixed number of codes are allocated between dedicated transport channels (DCHs) and high speed downlink shared channels (HS-DSCHs). A radio controller (RNC) allocates a minimum number of codes for HS-DSCH physical channels (HS-PDSCH codes) to the Node B. The Node B determines HS-PDSCH codes that are not currently being utilized and allocates HS-PDSCH codes from the unused codes without having to communicate with the RNC. When the additional HS-PDSCH codes are needed for DCH codes, the Node B reallocates the codes for DCH purposes without reducing the number of HS-PDSCH codes below the allocated minimum.

In one embodiment, a retransmission method includes: receiving, at a protocol layer in a receiver, a data block transmitted from a protocol layer in a transmitter; determining that it is not possible to decode the data block; determining that it is not probable that the data block can be decoded; signaling, from the protocol layer in the receiver, to the protocol layer in the transmitter first feedback information indicating that the data block was received; and signaling, from the protocol layer in the receiver, to the protocol layer in the transmitter second feedback information including information related to the reception time of the data block and indicating that the data block is aborted.

摘要： A receiving node makes an early estimate of the outcome of a decoding attempt and sends a corresponding early feedback (EHF) to the sending node. This has an effect of enabling a fast retransmission of the data by the sending node in case the decoding by the receiving node is likely to fail. An advantage of this is that any delays due to data retransmission may be minimized, resulting in a higher average throughput of the data transmission between the nodes.
