摘要： The present invention is a method of producing an imaging support which includes providing a support, simultaneously coating on a side of the support; a transparent magnetic recording layer including magnetic particles, a polymeric binder and an organic solvent, and a lubricating overcoat layer farthest from the support, the lubricating overcoat layer including a lubricant selected form the general formulas I, II or III: wherein general formula I comprises: ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of esters, amides, ethers, or methylene, a is from 10 to 500, and b is from 4 to 3000, and the general formula I has a molecular weight at least 800; wherein general formula II comprises: ##STR2## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of, --C-- and --N--, Z is selected from the group consisting of esters, amides, and a carbon-carbon bond, R is selected from the group consisting of methyl, and hydrogen or may be absent if Y equals nitrogen, c is from 1 to 2, d is from 4 to 3000, e is from 10 to 30, and the general formula II has a molecular weight of from 800 to 500,000, preferably from 3000 to 100,000; wherein general formula III comprises: ##STR3## wherein R' is selected from the group consisting of methyl, phenyl, substituted aliphatic groups, unsubstituted aliphatic groups, substituted aromatic groups, and unsubstituted aromatic groups; wherein f is from 4 to 3000, and g is from 10 to 30, and the general formula III has a molecular weight of from about 800 to 500,000 and preferably are between 3000 and 100,000, and an organic solvent. The present invention also includes a photographic element produced by the method.

摘要： The present invention is a photographic element which includes a support, and at least one light-sensitive silver halide layer on a front side of the support. The photographic element has on the backside of the support an antistatic layer; a transparent magnetic recording layer; and a lubricating overcoat layer. The lubricating overcoat layer is farthest from the support and includes a lubricant of the general formula: R--CONH.sub.2 where R is a long chain hydrocarbon between 12 and 30 carbons, preferably between 16 and 22. 摘要： Imaging elements, such as photographic, electrostatographic and thermal imaging elements, are comprised of a support, an image-forming layer and an electrically-conductive layer produced bycoating a layer comprised of a metallo-organic compound and a film-forming binder and subjecting such layer to glow discharge treatment to render it electrically conductive. Use of a metallo-organic compound in combination with a glow discharge treatment provides a controlled degree of electrical conductivity and beneficial chemical, physical and optical properties which adapt the electrically-conductive layer for such purposes as providing protection against static or serving as an electrode which takes part in an image-forming process.

In preferred embodiments, the substrate is a semiconductor material and the adhesion promoter facilitates the adhesion of a photoresist or protective coating.

摘要： There is disclosed a composite of 1) a polymer containing repeating units derived from a vinyl carboxylic ester having at least one organo terminated poly(alkylene oxide) side chain with the proviso that the poly(alkylene oxide) is present in an amount greater than 35 mole percent of the total of all backbone monomer units and alkylene oxide units in the polymer and 2) a metal oxide wherein the metal oxide comprises between about 1 and about 60 percent by weight of the composite. The composites can be made by a process comprising the steps of:combining the described polymer and a metal oxide precursor in a solvent solution;casting or coating the resulting solution onto a substrate;curing the resulting sample to form a composite of the polymer and the metal oxide.Optionally, the composite can be removed from the substrate to form a transparent free standing film. These composites have a variety of desirable properties. Optionally, a salt may be added to produce hard, abrasion resistant, transparent, antistatic coatings or films.
