    • A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus, for recording and reproducing the color television signal including VIR signal, of the type having a comb filter which is inserted in the chrominance signal system and includes a delay line for causing a delay equal to one horizontal line scanning period. In this apparatus the VIR signal has no line correlation so that the output of the comb filter becomes a VIR signal the amplitude of which is reduced by 6dB and that the amplitude and/or phase of the chrominance components of VIR signal are caused to vary over a wide range due to the effects of VIT signal. In order that the stable and correct color images may be reproduced even by a color television receiver of the type in which the amplitude and phase of the chrominance components of VIR signal are detected so as to automatically adjust the color saturation and hue, the amplitude of the chrominance components of VIR signal is detected and corrected in a recording system of a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus; the burst signal and the chrominance components of VIR signal are compared in phase so as to correct the phase of the carrier color signal with the difference signal before the carrier color signal is recorded; and in the playback mode the chrominance components of VIP signal of the carrier color signal free from time axis distortions are replaced with the stable oscillator output.

    • In a digital signal magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, input digital signals of plural channels and a recording current control signal expressing recording current values corresponding to the respective digital signals are time-division mulitplexed and transmitted into a rotary cylinder, and the digital signals and recording current control signal are separated by a circuit built in the rotary cylinder. The recording current for each of the digital signals is controlled depending on the recording current control signal. By time-division multiplexing the input digital signals of plural channels and transmitting the multiplexed signal into the rotary cylinder, the number of channels of the rotary transformer can be reduced. Further, by transmitting the recording current control signal into the rotary cylinder, the recording current of the digitally transmitted signal can be adjusted.

    • A two speed or multi-speed video tape recorder of the conventional helical scan type in which the audio signal is capable of being recorded as a time compressed signal at one end of each helical video scan, or alternatively, in conventional longitudinal fashion by means of a stationary magnetic head engaging one edge of the tape.At low tape transport speeds, improved bandwidth (and therefore sound fidelity) is obtained by use of the time compression technique; while at higher transport speeds, there are advantages in utilizing the stationary audio head.Circuitry is provided to automatically utilize the time compression technique at lower tape transport speeds and the stationary head longitudinal recording technique at higher tape transport speeds.     • A video recording and reproducing apparatus with photoelectric image camera in which a color signal processing circuit of a recording system is simplified. For recording, a luminance signal and a chrominance signal are produced in accordance with an image being picked up through a photoelectric transducer. The luminance signal is angle-modulated, while a carrier signal having a lower frequency than the standard carrier signal is directly modulated with the chrominance signal, whereby a chrominance recording signal equivalent to a signal obtained by a frequency conversion of the standard carrier signal to a low frequency band is obtained and added with the angle-modulated luminance signal to be recorded. Upon reproduction, the angle-modulated luminance signal undergoes angle-demodulation to be converted to a reproduced luminance signal, while the color (chrominance) recording signal is frequency-converted to a high frequency band to be reproduced color signal. The reproduced luminance and color signals are added together to obtain a reproduced color video signal.

Furthermore, the check code is used to indicate the type of information contained in the second section.
