    • In one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an electrical connector comprising an insulative housing having a longitudinal base with a first side and a second side. Extending from the base at the first side is a tongue portion having a first tongue section and a second tongue section, both sections having a first face and a second face. A plurality of passageways are defined on the first faces of both sections. Each of the passageways has a recess located at one end and a plurality of conductive contacts are received in the passageways. Each contact comprises a mating section, a mounting section and a retainer section bridging the mating section to the mounting section whereby the mating section of the contact is free to flex into the recess. In another embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an electrical connector having a socket extending from the base at the second side.

    • A cable organizer for use with an electrical connector terminated to an electrical cable includes a monolithic insulative housing including a base portion and a cover portion hingedly secured to and extending from the base portion. The base portion includes a bottom wall and opposing first side walls extending from the bottom wall. The cover portion includes a top wall and opposing second side walls extending from the top wall. The bottom wall, top wall, and first side walls cooperatively define a channel configured to retain the electrical cable when the cable organizer is assembled to the terminated electrical connector. The cable organizer may include a spring clip disposed in the channel and configured to assist in retaining the electrical cable.

    • A card connector is used to connect a memory card, such as CF card or CFast card. The card connector includes a housing; a connecting section for receiving a mating section of the memory card; and a pair of guide sections located on opposite lateral sides of the connecting section to guide the memory card, so that the mating section of the memory card can be connected in a mating engagement with the connecting section of the card connector. A tab is further received within each guide section. The tab has a base section, a pair of elastic sections extending from the sides of the base section, and a grounding section below the base section, wherein each of the two elastic sections protrudes from at least one slot provided in the inner side of each guide section respectively and the grounding section protrudes from a hole provided in the bottom of each guide section. The tabs can provide maximum lifting retention and shear forces due to the memory card insertion and extraction. The elastic sections of the tabs can provide balanced support along the sides of the card and the grounding sections of the tabs can provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding.

    • A connector for mounting on a printed wiring board includes a housing, contact terminals disposed in the housing, a fixing member, and a hood detachably connected to the housing with the fixing member. The contact terminals each have a contact pin to contact a mating connector and a terminal portion to contact a wiring pattern on the printed wiring board. The hood includes a protruding portion having an insertion hole, whereas the housing includes a cavity to accommodate the protruding portion and a vertical hole, with which the insertion hole is communicated when the protruding portion is accommodated in the cavity. The fixing member includes a projected rod. The projected rod is inserted into the vertical hole and the insertion hole, thereby allowing the hood to be detachably attached to the housing.
