    • A paper-pickup clutch of an automatic paper-feeding device includes a clamping member and a clamping-force adjusting member and can be applied to image processors such as printers, copiers or scanners. The automatic paper-feeding device includes a shaft and a paper-pickup mechanism transmitted to picking up paper by the shaft. The paper-pickup clutch provides a bi-directional clutch function by moving the clamping member toward or away from the paper-pickup mechanism with the clamping-force adjusting member in order to adjust the clamping force of the clamping member working on the paper-pickup mechanism to a certain level. With the certain level of clamping force, the paper-pickup mechanism sustains against paper to be fed and self-rotates with the rotation of the shaft in a first direction for feeding paper and rotates with the shaft in a second direction for releasing paper without further changing the state of the paper-pickup clutch.

    • A sheet size detecting mechanism includes an adjustable module, a sensing module and a controlling unit. The adjustable module includes a first sheet guide, a second sheet guide, an adjustable part and a circular gear. The adjustable part is a moved to a position where the first sheet guide and the second sheet guide are respectively in contact with two parallel edge sides of a sheet. The circular gear is rotated as the adjustable part is moved. The sensing module includes a sustaining element and a circuit board. The sustaining element is connected to an underside of the circular gear, and synchronously rotated with the circular gear. When the circular gear is rotated by an angle, the sustaining element is in contact with a specified one of the plural sensing regions, so that the circuit board generates a sensing signal. According to the sensing signal, the sheet size is acquired.

    • A paper-feeding mechanism of an automatic document feeder includes a pick-up module, a supporting module and a paper stopping module. The pick-up module is used for picking an uppermost paper sheet from the stack of paper sheets and transporting the uppermost paper sheet into a passageway inside the automatic document feeder. The supporting module supports the pick-up module and is rotated to either ascend or descend the pick-up module, wherein the supporting module has a sustaining part on a sidewall thereof. When the supporting module and the pick-up module are downwardly rotated, the stopping plate is moved vertically to a paper-feeding position for allowing the uppermost paper sheet to be transported into the passageway. When the supporting module and the pick-up module are upwardly rotated, the stopping plate is moved vertically to a paper-stopping position for hindering the uppermost paper sheet from being transported into the passageway.
