The pant further includes a suspending member formed of elastic material and comprising zones of different elasticity. A first elastic zone having a relatively higher elongation is provided in a longitudinally extending central region of the crotch part, and a pair of second elastic zones having a relatively lower elongation extend along both sides of the first elastic zone at or close to the leg openings in the crotch part. The first and second elastic zones extend to the front part with the second elastic zones extending along both sides of the first zone.

At least a part of the air-laid structure is moistened to a moisture content in the moistened region of at least 15% calculated on the total weight of the structure within the moistened region, whereafter the structure is dried to a moisture content of at most 12%. The moisture treatment improves the tensile strength of the absorbent structure. Liquid dispersion in the structure is also improved.
