摘要： A method for coupling ends of two insulated conductors includes coupling an end portion of a core of a first insulated conductor to an end portion of a core of a second insulated conductor. At least a part of the end portions of the cores are at least partially exposed. Electrically insulating material is placed over the exposed portions of the cores. An inner sleeve is placed over end portions of the two insulated conductors to be coupled. An outer sleeve is placed over the inner sleeve. There is an open volume between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve. The inner sleeve and the outer sleeve are coupled to jackets of the insulated conductors. A pressurized fluid is provided into the open volume between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve to compress the inner sleeve into the electrically insulating material and compact the electrically insulating material.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided for removing fluids, particularly entrained and/or adherent fluids, from drill cuttings generated during the well drilling process. A generally cylindrical wire-wrapped screen having a bore therethrough rotates about its longitudinal axis. Suction pressure is applied through the inner bore of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen. As fluid-laden drill cuttings are deposited on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen, fluids are drawn off of the cuttings and evacuated from the inner bore of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen. Solid components of the cuttings remain on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen and eventually roll off the screen. A scraper member is provided to agitate cuttings deposited on the outer surface of the cylindrical wire-wrapped screen.

An interior volume of the sleeve is at least partially filled with electrically insulating material. The electrically insulating material is compressed with an end portion of an electrical insulator in the first insulated conductor and an end portion of an electrical insulator in the second insulated conductor when the fitting is coupled to the insulated conductors.

A drill string has an outer diameter sized to fit within the sleeve member bore, and has one or more seals disposed on an exterior surface. The seals are sized to create a seal between said sleeve member and the drill string, when the drill string and seals are positioned within the sleeve member bore, while said drill string is still capable of reciprocation and/or rotation within the sleeve member when the seals are within the sleeve member bore.
