    • A modular receptacle jack assembly with a visual indication function provides a visual indication when the receptacle jack is connected with a mating plug jack. The modular receptacle jack assembly comprises a modular receptacle jack and an indicator mounted to the jack. The jack includes a housing having a bottom wall for connection to a printed circuit board, a top wall opposite the bottom wall, a front face defining a cavity for receiving the mating plug jack and a rear face opposite the front face, and a number of contacts securely fixed to the bottom wall of the housing and having contact portions extending into the cavity. The indicator includes a base having a first wall attached to the top wall of the housing and a second wall attached to the rear face of the housing and defining holes extending lengthwise therethrough. Diodes are mounted on the base and have leads extending through the holes. A cover has a third wall connected to two side walls extending upward from two ends of the first wall and a fourth wall connected to the second wall. A transparent block is mounted between the first and side walls of the base and the third wall of the cover cooperating therewith to enclose the diodes.

    • A cable connector assembly comprises a plug section, and a cable end section. The plug section includes an insulating, a number of conductive contacts received in the insulating housing, and a metal shell surrounding the plug section. The insulating housing comprises a front engaging portion, a middle main body having passageways defined therethrough, and a rear supporting portion. The conductive contacts are received in the passageways and each extends at one end into the engaging portion and at the other end into the supporting portion connected to the cable end section. The main body includes a pair of blocks stopped by edges of the metal shell and a number of protrusions, on its surface, received in a number of openings on the metal shell. The metal shell comprises a number of inward bulges on a surface in interference fit with the insulating housing, a pair of beam portion extending from its rear corners, and a pair of indents on its surface. A protective layer is applied onto and a jacket is molded over a rear portion of the plug section and a front portion of the cable end section, respectively. A copper foil is provided within the jacket and over the protective layer.

    • An I/O card device includes a metallic, rectangular upper cover having two longitudinal sides each having an L-shaped cross-section with a bottom wall facing each other and defining a number of holes, an upper insulative frame injection molded to the upper cover to fixedly connect therewith in which the upper frame fills the holes of the longitudinal sides, a lower metallic cover having a structure similar to the upper cover, a lower insulative frame having a structure similar to the upper frame and insert molded to the lower cover to fill the holes thereof. The upper frame and lower frame are connected together by ultrasonic soldering. A front connector is fixed to a front end of the device by engaging two lateral mounting ears of the front connector to front ends of the upper and lower frames. A rear connector is fixed to a rear end of the device by engaging two lateral mounting ears of the rear connector to rear ends of the upper and lower frames. A printed circuit board is fixedly received in the device and electrically connected to the front and rear connectors.
