摘要： Apparatus and methods for magnetic resonance imaging are provided. The apparatus desirably comprises an MRI magnet subsystem and a control kiosk spatially separate from the MRI subsystem. The control kiosk may be advantageously located inside or outside the shielded room housing the MRI subsystem. The method comprises the steps of providing a control kiosk spatially separate from the MRI subsystem and positioning and viewing a patient within a patient-receiving space of the main subsystem. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprising a relay having a power input and power output connected to a power supply of an actuator control unit is provided.

Through use of calibrated corrective coils, magnetic field lines can be manipulated to improve uniformity and image quality. Additionally, when the apparatus is composed of non-ferromagnetic materials, field strengths can be increased to overcome limitations of Iron-based systems such as by use of superconductivity. A patient positioning apparatus allows multi-positioning of a patient within the calibrated and more uniform magnetic field lines.

摘要： A magnetic resonance imaging system having a patient support arranged for pivoting movement about a pivot axis and linear or sliding motion along a support axis transverse to the pivot axis is provided with a device for measuring the location of a patient feature to be imaged. The measured location is used to define coordinates for positioning the patient support. These coordinates desirably are used to automatically move the patient support from a loading position to an imaging position where the feature will be properly aligned with the field axis of the imaging magnet. The system simplifies patient positioning.

The transmitter broadcasts a global position of the vehicle as part of a vehicle periodic beacon message. A pedestrian-based device is carried by a pedestrian. The pedestrian-based device has a transmitter and receiver for communicating a global position of the pedestrian as part of a pedestrian periodic beacon message. A positional awareness of the vehicle in relation to the pedestrian is assessed by at least one of the vehicle-based device or the pedestrian-based device based on the positioning of the vehicle in relation to the pedestrian. An alert is provided to at least one of the vehicle or the pedestrian indicating a presence of the vehicle or pedestrian based on the respective global positions of the pedestrian and the vehicle.
