    • A system for updating a plurality of monitoring models is provided. The system includes a model association module that, for each of a plurality of monitored systems determines, an association between a particular monitored system and at least one of a plurality of estimation models. Each estimation model is based upon one of a plurality of distinct sets of estimation properties, and each set uniquely corresponds to a particular estimation model. The system also includes an updating module that updates at least one of the estimation properties and propagates the updated estimation properties to each estimation model that corresponds to a distinct set containing at least one estimation property that is updated. The system further includes a model modification module that modifies each estimation model that corresponds to a distinct set containing at least one estimation property that is updated.

    • Systems and methods to monitor a signal from an apparatus are disclosed. A feature extracted from the signal is automatically defined. Signals are received over a period of time wherein the apparatus is in a normal operational mode. Features are classified in a learning mode and are applied to create a reference model that defines a within-normal operational mode. In a testing mode a signal generated by the apparatus is received, a feature is extracted and classified. Instantaneous data generated in operational mode by the apparatus is classified by the system as abnormal if it does not lie within boundaries of the reference model or contains information/structure in an orthogonal subspace. A learned reference model is augmented by a user or automatically. In one illustrative example the apparatus is a power generation equipment and the signal is an acoustic signal.

The emission coil is axially oriented (A) and has an axial emission coil end surface (15) which can be guided towards the object (3). At least two reception coils (9, 33, 43) at a distance from the emission coil and having, respectively, a receiving coil end surface (17) which can be guided towards the object (3) to capture a response signal induced in the object (3) by the magnetic field of the emission coil (7, 31, 41). At least the receiver coil end surface (17) of one of the receiver coils protrudes beyond the emission coil end surface (15) to a selected distance from the object (3).

    • A system is provided to monitor a structure within an outer casing of a gas turbine engine. The system may comprise an optical fiber bundle, a fiber bundle palette and a camera palette assembly. The optical fiber bundle may have first and second ends. The first end is adapted to pass through a bore in the outer casing of the gas turbine engine so as to be positioned adjacent the structure within the gas turbine engine casing to be monitored. The fiber bundle palette is adapted to be located outside of the engine casing to receive the second end of the optical fiber bundle. The camera palette assembly comprises a fixture movable relative to the fiber bundle palette and a first camera mounted to the fixture. The first camera is adapted to be positioned adjacent to the second end of the optical fiber bundle so as to receive electromagnetic radiation received by the first end of and transmitted through the optical fiber bundle.
