摘要： The instant invention is concerned with the production of glass bodies which, after being hydrothermally crystallized, exhibit a relatively high degree of machinability and good chemical durability. Such bodies are produced by hydrating glass particles having compositions within a very narrow interval of the Na2OAl2O3-MgO-SiO2 field. The hydration simultaneously results in the development of quartz crystals and causes the glass particles to sinter together into an integrated solid body which can be readily shaped and drilled by hand and machine tools. Upon firing to remove the water in the glass structure, a porous body is produced that will exhibit no more than 10% linear shrinkage and, most preferably, less than 5%.

摘要： This invention is concerned with the production of inorganic silicate materials which exhibit properties akin to the desirable characteristics of high-polymer organic plastics. Thus, the materials can demonstrate resilience and impact resistance. They are suitable for being thermoplastically formed at relatively low temperatures. They are strong and exhibit relatively good chemical durability, this latter property being capable of further improvement through surface treatments. This invention contemplates hydrating certain alkali metal-containing silicate glasses and thereafter carefully dehydrating the glass to maintain a water content therein within a specified range of concentrations.

The vitreous material is coated on the sheet and then the assembly subjected to heat and pressure by a stainless steel tool 60 forming coaxial seals and treated by induction. 摘要： A method of making electrical capacitors fused to a substrate and suitable for integration with a microcircuit comprising applying to the substrate in the order named a first buffer layer and a capacitor unit including a first capacitor plate, dielectric layer, and second capacitor plate. The assembly so formed is then fired to volatilize any organic constituents, fuse adjoining layers and plates to each other and to the adjoining portions of the substrate, and at least partially crystallize the buffer and dielectric layers. Thereafter, a second buffer layer and a layer of vitreous glazing material is applied over the capacitor unit and the assembly is fired again to volatilize any organic constituents, complete crystallization of the first buffer and dielectric layers, crystallize the second buffer layer, and fuse the newly applied layers to adjoining layers, to the adjoining exposed surface of the outer capacitor plate, and to the adjoining portions of the substrate.
