The present invention may include an audio/video receiver to collect broadcast data from a user viewing channel, and extract audio/video data from the collected broadcast data, a sampling unit to sample the extracted audio/video data, a preprocessing unit to encode the sampled audio/video data, and a viewing channel determining unit to compare the encoded audio/video data to audio/video sampling data for N broadcast channels received from a channel identification server, and obtain a viewing channel identifier according to a result of comparison.

The server segments a spatial image into a plurality of regions to detect an isolated region whose continuity with peripheral regions is less than a threshold value, generates geographic information corresponding to the detected isolated region, and generates a capture request message including the generated geographic information.     • Provided are a passive optical network system and a method of transmitting a broadcasting signal in the same system. A central office (CO) generates a broadcasting signal and a downstream optical data signal using a coding method guaranteeing a run-length, multiplexes the downstream optical data signal and the broadcasting signal, and transmits the multiplexed downstream optical data signal and broadcasting signal. A remote node (RN) transmits the multiplexed downstream optical data signal and broadcasting signal received from the CO to one or more optical network units (ONUs). A gain medium, which is located on a transmission line between the CO and the RN, amplifies the broadcasting signal using the downstream optical data signal as a pump light source. Accordingly, a high gain can be obtained by amplifying the broadcasting signal using the gain medium located on the transmission line without a separate pump light source.

    • A wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network system is provided. A central office generates a multi-mode light having a mode interval equal to a period interval of a multiplexing filter of the remote node and the multi-mode light is used to control a wavelength of an uplink transmission optical signal of the optical network unit. A remote node multiplexes the multi-mode light with the multiplexing filter to transmit the multiplexed multi-mode light to the optical network unit and demultiplexes the uplink transmission optical signal to transmit the demultiplexed uplink transmission optical signal to the central office. An the optical network unit generates the uplink transmission optical signal by modulating a data signal with a Fabry-Perot laser which uses the multiplexed multi-mode light as an injection optical source. Accordingly, it is possible to control a wavelength of a transmitter of the optical network unit by using the injection optical source generated by the central office.
