摘要： The present invention is directed to a method of conducting static electricity in a pneumatic tire, comprising the steps of mixing a rubber compound comprising at least one diene based rubber, from 60 to 150 phr of precipitated silica, less than 40 phr of carbon black, and from 1 to 10 phr of carbon nanotubes having a length of at least 5 microns; forming a tire tread from the rubber compound; and including the tire tread in the tire; wherein the volume resistivity of the tire tread is less than 1×109 ohm-cm as measured by ASTM D257-98.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a method for making a pneumatic tire having a foam noise damper, the pneumatic tire comprising two spaced inextensible beads; a ground contacting tread portion; a pair of individual sidewalls extending radially inward from the axial outer edges of said tread portion to join the respective beads, the axial outer edges of the tread portion defining a tread width; a supporting carcass for the tread portion and sidewalls; an innerliner disposed radially inward of the carcass, the innerliner having a innerliner surface facing an interior cavity of the tire; the method comprising the steps of: applying a silicone adhesive to the innerliner surface to form an adhesive prepared surface; applying a solid foam noise reducer to the adhesive prepared surface; and curing the adhesive.

摘要： The invention relates to a rubber composition which contains silica reinforcement and functionalized crosslinks, particularly crosslinked functionalized precipitated silica, including sulfur crosslinked functionalized silica and associated cured rubber compositions, and to articles of manufacture having a component thereof such as, for example tires. A dimercaptothiadiazole is used to form the crosslinked network within the rubber composition. The mercapto moieties of said dimercaptothiadiazole are desirably protected from prematurely reacting with, for example, diene-based elastomers and sulfur-containing silica coupling agents by pre-reaction with an aromatic carboxylic acid chloride or by reacting in situ with an aromatic carboxylic acid.

摘要： A pre-cured pneumatic rubber tire of open toroidal shape having a pre-cured rubber strip, comprised of at least one elastomer and which contains at least one electrically conductive element, adhesively bonded to an inner surface of the tire's cavity. The adhesive is an RTV polysiloxane comprised of an hydroxyl terminated (silanol terminated) polysiloxane and crosslinking agent. The adhesive is applied as a layer, or coating, thereof onto a surface of said pre-cured rubber strip, and/or onto a corresponding pre-cured inner surface of said pre-cured tire, and the resulting coated pre-cured rubber strip and inner surface of said pre-cured tire brought together with said layer of adhesive therebetween and the adhesive allowed to cure and thereby bond said strip to said tire inner surface. In one aspect of the invention, said strip is an annular pre-cured rubber strip bonded to the tire's inner surface in its crown region or to said tire inner surface circumferential with and close to the periphery of the tire's open cavity. In another aspect of the invention, said tire inner surface is of a textured configuration and optionally contains a thin coating thereon of a polysiloxane material. In a further aspect of the invention, said pre-cured rubber strip contains a transducer and/or microprocessor inductively and/or electrically connected to said electrically conductive element(s), for example a wire antenna, contained in said rubber strip.
