    • A shoulder lift includes a hollow bent shaft that has a first end and a second end and that defines an interior of the bent shaft. First and second openings leading to the interior of the bent shaft are formed at the first and second ends, respectively. The shoulder lift also includes a cable having a first end and a second end.     • A leg holder assembly includes a leg support apparatus and a rail attachment mechanism. The leg support apparatus includes a planar support apparatus and a plurality of adjustable arms. The adjustable arms are pivotable. A patient's leg can be received within a space defined between the adjustable arms and rested on the planar support apparatus. The leg support apparatus also includes a support shaft. The rail attachment mechanism includes a body and a plurality of attachment arms. The rail attachment mechanism can be secured to the rail of an operating table by hooking the arms of the rail attachment mechanism over the rail of the operating table. A slot formed within the body of the rail attachment mechanism receives the support shaft and enables the support shaft to be slid into and out of the slot for attachment and detachment of the leg support apparatus to the operating table.

    • A training method for the game of golf is disclosed. More specifically, the method comprises engaging a golfer's leg above the golfer's knee, engaging a golfer's leg below the golfer's knee, selecting an optimum knee flexion angle, locking the knee at the selected angle, approaching the ball in preparation for a golf swing, and swinging the club through all phases of the golf swing (e.g., take-away, impact, and follow-through). The method further comprises unlocking the knee to permit unrestricted ambulation for walking to the next swing position then selecting an additional knee flexion angle (that may be the same or different as the first depending on the attributes of the golfer and environmental conditions), locking the knee at the selected angle, and swinging the club through all phases of a golf swing. Improvements in the swing mechanics of a golfer can be realized with the training method of the invention.

The adjustable hinge assembly operates in both a locked position mode that prevents the knee from flexing and an unlocked position mode that permits unrestricted ambulation. The method for controlling and stabilizing the swing mechanics of a golfer comprises selecting an optimum knee flexion angle, locking the knee at the selected angle, approaching the ball in preparation for a golf swing, and swinging the club through all phases of the golf swing (e.g. take-away, impact, and follow-through).
