摘要： Techniques are described for providing a therapeutic pseudo-constant DC current in an implantable stimulator using pulses whose positive and negative phases are not charge balanced. Such charge imbalanced pulses act to charge any capacitance in the current path between selected electrode nodes, such as the DC-blocking capacitors and/or any inherent capacitance such as those present at the electrode/tissue interface. These charged capacitances act during quiet periods between the pulses to induce a pseudo-constant DC current. Beneficially, these DC currents can be small enough to stay within charge density limits and hence not corrode the electrode or cause tissue damage, and further can be controlled to stay within such limits or for other reasons. Graphical user interface (GUI) aspects for generating the charge imbalanced pulses and for determining and/or controlling the pseudo-constant DC current are also provided.

摘要： A holding device is disclosed which can hold a charging coil for providing power to an Implanted Medical Device (IMD). To assist with charging coil to IMD alignment, movable elements are provided to allow a patient to move the charging coil on or in the holding device while the holding device stays stationary against the patient. The holding device can accommodate an integrated external charger or a charging coil assembly that is controlled by a separate charging controller, and the charging controller may also be affixed in or on the holding device. Movable elements preferably allow the charging coil to be moved parallel to the long axis of the holding device (x), although they may also allow the charging coil to be moved perpendicularly to the long axis (y), or to be rotated (θ) around an axis pointing away from the holding device.

摘要： A control module for an electrical stimulation system includes a casing having an electrically-conductive portion; an electronic subassembly disposed in the casing; and a header portion coupled to the casing and including a connector for a lead or lead extension. The control module also includes a feedthrough assembly coupling the casing to the header portion. The feedthrough assembly includes a non-conductive ceramic block; conductive feedthrough pins passing through the ceramic block and electrically coupling the connector to the electronic subassembly disposed in the casing; a metal flange disposed around, and attached to, the ceramic block, and a non-conductive spacer attached to the metal flange and to the casing to raise the ceramic block above, and away from, the casing. Other control modules include a ceramic block that has a rim portion that raises the plate portion, through which the feedthrough pins pass, of the block away from the casing.
