The systems and assemblies provide for various mitigating actions that may include altering an audio signal to change the acoustic response, turning off the loudspeaker, and/or isolating the loudspeaker from the pressure differential.

The acoustic enclosure includes a rigid plate configured to be attached to a frame, a first section, and a second section. The rigid plate configured to support a speaker disposed in part within the acoustic enclosure. The first section is constructed from expanded resin, and disposed in contact with the rigid plate. The second section is disposed in contact with the first section, between the second section and the rigid plate. The first and second section together define a housing of the acoustic enclosure that includes at least one cavity configured to accommodate a portion of the speaker.

The automobile headrest also includes a pair of support rods that are connected to the core. The core is configured such that at least a portion of the speakers is disposed directly behind the head of the user when the back of the user's head rests against the front surface of the main body portion and is centered relative to the main body portion. The core defines a portion of one or more acoustic chambers for the first and second speakers.

The headrest wing is coupled to the enclosure by a pivot, and configured to be adjusted to one of multiple positions within an angle range around the pivot. The headrest wing is also configured to support the head of a seat-occupant. The headrest further includes a connector disposed between the enclosure and a rear portion of the headrest wing. The connector is configured to provide an acoustic channel between the enclosure and the headrest wing such that audio signals from the one or more acoustic transducers are radiated outward through the headrest wing.
