摘要： Embodiments of a button attachment awl are disclosed which may be used to attach a button to a garment without using a needle and thread. The awl has a pointed forward end and a rearward slanting notch rearward of the point. A connector with outward flaring fingers fits into the notch. The point of the awl and the connector fingers are pushed through a button hole and the cloth. The fingers distort sufficiently to fit through the button hole and the cloth and then flare outward to prevent the connector from being pulled back through the holes.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for magnetically holding sockets in a desired horizontal sequence. One embodiment of the device is substantially rectangular having a plurality of parallel channels of descending circumference adapted to receive corresponding socket heads from a standard or long socket set. The device promotes a plurality of magnetic arcs, having pole lines parallel to the channels, for engagement to the exterior circumference of the cylindrical sockets. The magnetic attraction properties of the device offer a significant improvement over the prior art while simultaneously providing maximum visibility of the socket heads which facilitate retrieval by an individual.

A member having a series of recesses having shapes corresponding to the tools to be held is backed by an elongated magnet. In one embodiment, the .member is a non-magnetic material and the magnet is made up of a plurality of transverse magnetic regions, having alternately north and south pole regions on the surface toward the recesses, with the lines between adjacent north and south regions aligned with the centerline of the recesses and a narrow non-magnetized region separating each pair of adjacent magnetic regions. In a second embodiment, the member is formed from a magnetic a U-shaped sheet with the recesses formed in opposed sidewalls. The magnet is held between the sidewalls below the recesses and has two longitudinally arranged north and south poses at the surface toward the recesses, with the pole line running longitudinally along the center of the magnet and a narrow non-magnetized region is interposed along the line between the magnetic regions. A third embodiment has a corrugated backing plate faced with the alternating magnetic regions. A fourth embodiment has a solid plastic holder with individual magnet assemblies inserted at the bottom of each of a series of recesses.
